50 Whaling Road North Sydney – replacement of cracked concrete stairs and walkway.
The Task
Staircare was approached by the body corporate to design, fabricate and install an FRP staircase and walkway to replace the existing cracked stairs.
Staircare SC-R designed a complete FRP structural support system including SHS, C Channels and angles with SC-R mini mesh stair treads and FRP mini mesh walkways. SC-R Handrails with 50 x 50 stanchions, omega-top handrail and translucent infill.
Certification
Staircare SC-R stair system conforms to:
- AS 1657:2018 : Fixed platforms, walkways, stairways and ladders – Design, construction and installation.
- AS 4586:2013: Slip resistance classification of new pedestrian surface materials
Result
Staircare SC-R stair system with translucent handrail infill achieved a light and airy entrance leading from the community gardens to the carpark and street exit.
